5-Week Reading and Writing Program
June 16 - July 18, 2014
The summer program provides structured daily practice in reading and writing to help students improve their skills and prevent summer regression. The intensive nature of the course allows students to make gains that often take much longer during year-long tutoring or remediation. Each student works at their individual level within each component of the course.
The program is appropriate for students, both with learning disabilities and without, who are performing below grade level in reading or who lack confidence in their reading or writing abilities. The morning session is designed for students reading at a low to mid elementary level. The afternoon session is more appropriate for students who have completely mastered the basics of reading, but need help with harder words and texts. Both sessions are taught in groups of no more than 4 students.
